Surgery Recovery

The ET tube (breathing tube) came out around 5:00pm...and STAYED OUT! Yahh! He did so good the 2nd time around! As soon as they took it out, he rolled over on his tummy and went right back to sleep! Then woke back up at 11:00pm...to watch Happy Feet...again. I have a feeling it's going to be a L O N G night. If you don't see much blogging/texting tomorrow...I'm napping!

Surgery (update)

Jake's surgery went very well. It lasted all of about 15 minutes! The surgeon came out and said that his tonsils were very large, his adenoids...not so much. Which was why it went so quick. There wasn't much to take care of in the adenoids department! He said sometimes he wonders if taking the tonsils and/or adenoids out will really help, but in Jake's case he has good reason to believe there will be some positive changes. That's always good news to hear.

His recovery so far has not been as easy as we had hoped, but nothing to be worried about. Jake woke up PISSED that he had a tube in his throat...and put on his boxing gloves! He gave those doctors a run for their money. But in the process his throat swelled up a little. It could be from his fighting & it could just be from the surgery. Either way, extubation didn't work the first time. So they brought him up to the ICU reintubated and VERY sedated. The plan for today is to bring him down off the sedation, steroids to help the swelling go down, and having him breathing on his own with the tube still in before they pull the tube again. They are hoping to try that later on this afternoon. So for now, we are just hanging out in the room...playing on the Internet, maybe catch a quick nap. I'll update again when something new happens!!

Surgery

My little Bub bub just went back to surgery. He is having his tonsils and adenoids out...right now! He should be done in the next 15-20 minutes. The hope is that the surgery will ease up the hypertension on his heart and help his sleep apnea. I guess a little time will tell! Next stop is the ICU! Thank you for all your well wishes and prayers!

Things that come to an end...

We have had a fantastic summer. Jake stayed completely healthy!! My girls & I had a yard sale. We played water hop scotch. We went to lots of birthday parties, and had one of our own. We took our 1st real family vacation to Disney World (and Typhoon Lagoon, and the beach in Jacksonville). Delana spent the summer with us. We had picnics at the park with Roman, Lexi, & Auntie Carrie. Zach & I had a few date nights and got to spend a day on the river for they hydro races, and even got to take a overnight trip to Seattle with some of our besties! Jake started walking...at 22 months! We went to the Woodland Park Zoo, in Seattle, then we rode on ferry boats. Aunt Kacie got married. Gracie was the flower girl. She loved it. What's left...The county fair! I used to LOVE going to our little county fair when I was younger. I think I love it even more with kids! So today, we (with our besties) will go to the fair for kids day! And tomorrow, while Zach is at work (sorry love), the kids and I will go back to the fair with Grandma & Grandpa!! Ted Nugent will be playing. Grandpa is all sorts of excited about this! So, here are some pictures of our summer!

Gracie is 5!

Some call it a problem...

I prefer to call it "Crafters High"! While we were out of town last weekend my new Cricut cartridge came! Even better...I kind of forgot I ordered it! LOL! I bought Mini Monsters to do Jake's birthday invitations and decorations! It's going to be so much fun. But I got all twitterpated (Zach cringes when I use that word), a sort of crafters head rush if you will! The room started spinning, I started to drown out the sounds of the little people running amok in my house, breath Julie, breath! Ahhh...Dr. Pepper STAT! Ok, I'm better now! See, I just can't help myself sometimes! So here is what came of my little high for tonight!

Jake's birthday party invitations

YES, I did spell check...after I had already cut and
pasted this on! It's fixed...I don't need it pointed out...
I know you want to...don't!

These little Mini Monsters will be cup cake toppers,
napkin rings, whatever else I can figure out what
to do with them! They just might be everywhere!

I just can't get enough of these little goodie bags!
I will make them in lots of different fun colors!

So here is where my "problem" comes in. When I get
in crafting mode...I tend to block out the rest of the world.
Not such a good thing when there are 3 little people running
thru the house on what seems to be a nice little sugar high!
So give them a big bag of Mega blocks and see what happens!

And it still looks like that!

And because my kitchen table looks like this...

Those little people also ate their dinner in the play
room tonight!

"No you can't play Mickey Mouse Club House,
mommy is very busy doing very important things
with the computer"...or my crafts are creeping over
to other parts of the house now...

For those of you that know Jake, you know his birthday is at the end of September. Yes, I tend to get a little over excited about my birthday parties, and yes I do work on them way longer than I should...but this time there is a good explanation! Watch me try and justify...Jake goes in for surgery in less than 2 weeks. Which means we get to hang out at Seattle Children's again for an unknown amount of time...again. I thought I was over the anxiety of having to go back...but I'm not. I don't know if I ever will be. Sometimes I think that place is a little too good. They always seem to find things...even when we are not looking for them. This is supposed to be a easy surgery, and home in 4-6 days. We will see. So, my plan is to keep myself busy while we are there. I am going to make all his invitations and decorations! See, I've cut out all the itsy bitsy little pieces and neatly put them in very organized little baggies!

This is as far as I've gotten tonight...no worries, there will be
much more to come!

Zach, if you are reading this...we need more baggies!
Nighty night friends...sweet crafting dreams!

Our big boy...

IS WALKING!! He has been taking a few steps here and there, but now he's REALLY walking! I could gush over him all day long. I tried to upload a video of him walking, but it was taking forever to upload a 10 second video! Any hints?
